Looking for high-quality self-catering accommodation in Paris?
3 questions to David Loquin, founder of ApartmentParis
How did the ApartmentParis project all begin?
My parents run a “Gîte de France” (holiday home) in Brittany, so I spent several years in this type of environment. When I came to Paris to work, I realised that this type of accommodation didn’t exist in the city and that the hotels were relatively expensive. The idea gradually began to evolve. I began by buying a studio apartment to rent out, then two, and then some friends suggested that I take over an apartment that they were leaving… the idea was born and the company was founded in 2006. Within 3 years, Apartmentparis has gone from having 8 apartments to now having 70. This original and innovative idea continues to be a real success story. We currently have 14 dynamic employees working for the company.
With regard to the clients who rent your apartments, what are they looking for? Is there a standard client profile?
First of all, I would say that they are looking for a “home away from home”. Our service gives them the comfort and serenity of a turn-key service that also offers complete freedom to move around as they please. There are no set check-in and check-out times and once they arrive, they are “at home” and can invite friends round, for example. We have a wide range of apartments that can accommodate between 2 and 8 people. What we offer therefore appeals to all types of clients, both business travellers and tourists.
However, we could say that our clients are independent people who appreciate being right in the middle of the city while at the same time still having a bit of privacy.
In what way is your service different to individuals renting out apartments?
Apartmentparis is the property manager for the apartments and so we guarantee the quality of the service and provide assistance during your stay, no matter the circumstances. Furthermore, we pay particular care to the decor that makes each apartment unique so that the client doesn’t feel like they are staying in someone else’s apartment. Each client can adapt the apartment to suit them during their stay.
